A bag of cement is expected to rise from its current price to GH¢66 effective June, 15, 2022.
They stated that the depreciation of the Ghana cedi, increase in petroleum products, and transport fares are major causes of the increment.
According to manufacturers, people in Accra will be the most affected due to transportation costs to other regions.
“We can control the factory price, but we are not sure about the retail price on the markets in other regions,” one of the manufactures told the media.
They added that they will try their possible best to absorb some cost from consumers.
“We will try our best to take some of the cost of reducing the margin of increase after the transport charges and other related costs are added to the product.” they added.
