Gov’t increases VAT rate from 12.5% to 15%

The Government of Ghana under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo has announced its decision to increase the Value Added Tax (VAT).

According to the statement delivered by the Finance Minister, Government will increase VAT by 2.5 percent moving from its current percentage of 12.5 per cent to 15.

The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta noted that the increment is to aid government on road construction projects and the digitization agenda.

The Minister also disclosed that government will fast-track the implementation of the Unified Property Rate Platform programme in 2023.
