During the 2023 Budget read to Parliament, the Finance Minister also noted that the government has reduced the rate and removed the threshold of the E-Levy.

“Review the E-Levy Act and more specifically, reduce the headline rate from 1.5% to 1% of the transaction value as well as removal of the daily threshold,” Ken Ofori-Atta said.

The Government of Ghana following the reduction of the E-Levy rate disclosed that the GHC100 threshold has been removed.

This means that Ghanaians will now pay e-levy on every amount of money transfer they make.

Therefore, with the removal of threshold and reduction of e-levy rate, every money that is transferred from one mobile money account to another will attract a 1 per cent E-levy.
