MTN has said that any social media post to the effect that the telecommunication firm is giving subscribers free limitless calls by dialling *31# is ‘pretend’ and ought to be discarded.
“Customers are advised to disregard this post and note that this information is false and not from MTN,” the company said in a statement.
MTN cautioned that dialling *31# “will block your ability to make any voice calls”.
For purchasers who’ve “mistakenly” activated the shortcode, MTN suggested that they dial #31# to reverse the method.
