Elon Musk’s Twitter has officially threatened to sue, Mark Zuckerberg and his new app, Threads for unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secret.
Meta’s new app, Threads now has over 30 million sign-ups since its launch on Wednesday. Twitter feels threatened about due to Instagram’s billion users and how easy users can migrate from Instagram and sign up on Threads.
In a letter cited by our writer, Twitter’s lawyer Alex Spiro wrote that Meta has engaged in “systematic, willful and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property.”
Mr. Spiro added that “Twitter intends to strictly enforce its intellectual property rights, and demands that Meta take immediate steps to stop using any Twitter trade secrets or other highly confidential information.”
Elon Musk’s lawyer accused Meta of hiring former Twitter employees who “had and continue to have access to Twitter’s trade secrets and other highly confidential information”.
In response to the letter, Meta Spokesperson, Andy Stone said that “No one on the Threads engineering team is a former Twitter employee — that’s just not a thing”
Twitter owner Elon Musk has also accused Twitter of cheating in his latest tweet.
