Regardless, Vodafone Ghana have made it much easier for users to replace their SIM Card.

In this article, you will find the complete and basic steps to following to replace your SIM Card.

When to replace your SIM Card

Replace your SIM Card if it is faulty, damaged, stolen or lost but if you have any other legitimate reason or condition apart from those stated, you can replace it.

Requirements for SIM Swap/Replacement and SIM Upgrade

  • The phone number must be registered with Vodafone
  • You must have your National Identity Number (Ghana Card)
  • You must provide corresponding answers to your key details such as Date of Birth, Location, Last Recharge Date, Last Recharged Amount, Four (4) Frequently Dialed Numbers.

How to Replace your SIM Card

  • Visit the nearest Vodafone office with the valid ID card registered with the SIM Card.
  • The attendant will ask you key details such as Date of Birth, Location, Last Recharge Date, Last Recharged Amount, Four (4) Frequently Dialed Numbers.
  • Customers will pay a fee for the SIM replacement.
  • A new card will be issued, and your old/current number activated

How to Replace Vodafone SIM Card yourself

  1. First Dial 100 on another phone
  2. Purchase a blank SIM card from any Vodafone Retail outlets
  3. For security reasons, an attendant will ask you to confirm the following:
  • Phone Number
  • Name on the account
  • ID type used to register the account
  • Date of birth,
  • Any one of the last 5 transactions on the account (Calls made, recharge made, etc.),
  • Amount of credit on the phone
  • Last recharge date or amount.

After answering all the above questions correctly, you will then be required to provide the serial number behind the blank SIM card.

Once everything has been confirmed, your new SIM Card will be activated with your old number for you to use.

How to Replace your Vodafone SIM Card via Vodafone App

Purchase a blank SIM card from any of our Retail outlets or Freelancers.

  1. Go to the Main Menu of the app
  2. Tap Offers and Extras for you
  3. Scroll to the end of the list and tap ‘Services’
  4. Tap Request for a ‘SIM Swap
  5. For security reasons, you will be contacted by a customer service agent and required to confirm the following:
  • Phone Number
  • Name on the account
  • ID type used to register the account
  • Date of birth
  • Any one of the last 5 transactions on the account (Calls made, recharge made, etc.)
  • Amount of credit on the phone
  • Last recharge date or amount

You will then be required to provide the serial number behind the blank SIM card.

Once you confirm your details, your new SIM Card will be activated with your old number for you to use.
