Members of the general public can verify the authenticity of a motor insurance policy on their Mobile Phones by dialing the USSD code below.
This functionality allows every Ghanaian to verify whether a vehicle has valid insurance before boarding it. The police can also use this functionality to verify the authenticity of a motor insurance sticker.
This is initiative took effect from 1st January 2020 to help curb the menace of vehicles with fake motor insurance stickers plying the roads and thus endangering lives and property.
Here is how to check your Insurance Policy below:
- Dial *920*57#
- Enter Vehicle Registration Number and Press Send
- You will receive details of the Insurance Policy as shown in the sample below;
