Twitter has finally announced the relaunch of the $8 Twitter Blue services after discarding it due to impersonation issue and other fatal impact.

Blue membership subscription will now cost $8 per month to purchase on the web and $11 per month on iOS App Store due to Apple’s 30 percent commission on in-app purchases.

Twitter Blue users who want verification checkmark on their profile will have to verify with their phone number.

According to the Product Manager at Twitter, Esther Crawford, the phone number verification of Twitter Blue subscribers is to prevent issues of impersonation.

Any Blue member who changes their username, display name or profile photo will have their checkmark disabled until changes on account is reviewed.

New features for Twitter Blue subscribers include access to reader mode, uploading 1080p videos, editing of tweets and a blue profile checkmark among others.

In regard to the verification checkmarks, Twitter says gold checkmark will be used for businesses, gray for government and multilateral accounts, and blue for legacy blues or Twitter Blue subscribers.
